Michael Pescasio has worked in the commercial industry for over 15 years. During and after graduation from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema-Television, Michael moved his way up the production ladder. Today he is a Union member as: Key Grip, Chief Lighting Technician, Techno Crane Operator, Camera Operator and Director of Photography (or a multi-card caring below the line auteur).
In the last several years Michael has been shooting 2nd unit for more and more national car spots. Utilizing this experience and aptitude along with his technical expertise, Michael is ready to take the helm and focus on shooting/directing car campaigns.
Michael is no stranger to the Group 101 Spots community. He has shot spots for alumni Brent Jones and Robert Moggach (who after their Group 101 experience signed with production companies and are working directors). Michael also appeared in Shoot Magazine’s 2006 New Cinematographer’s Showcase spread for his work on the Mustang GT500 spot “Chase” directed by Brent Jones and produced by Aero Films.
In 2004, Michael was one of the winners of the International Cinematographers Guild Showcase for the short “Mrs. Marshal” directed by commercial helmer Denise Ziatoon produced by Z Group Films. The guild also hosted the winners at the 2004 Cannes International Film Festival screenings. ASC magazine featured Michael and Mrs. Marshal in their 85thAnniversary edition in August of that same year.
Michael’s diversified crew titles have given him a core foundation. He is confident this greater understanding of commercial production will make him a strong Director/Cameraman for this glossy advertising 15-30-60 second medium – an ad.
