Kirk has been producing and directing corporate videos for the past five years for clients like Cargill, 3M and Medtronic. Before that he got his introduction into commercials by being a PA for a number of production companies. He served as an assistant editor at MTV, as well as a post supervisor in LA.

Kirk won a McKnight grant in 2002 for a feature length screenplay he penned, and he has also received a couple Telly awards for his corporate work. Kirk received his MFA in film from the University of Miami in 1998.
