Edward Schumacher comes to Group 101 Spots as a senior art director who has worked at a few of the top ad agencies in the country. Davidandgoliath, Merkley Newman Harty Earle Palmer Brown, Rubin Postaer, and DDB worldwide all provided Schumacher with tremendous learning experiences that allowed him to hone his commercial writing and producing skills while adding diversity and originality to his portfolio.
His directorial work includes a commercial for Bacardiís new Cyclone brand (via Davidandgoliath), as well as projects for Concord Insurance, Band-Aid Brand, Kids Foot Locker, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Target (featuring Garth Brooks) and the Vancouver Lottery as well as a documentary in Cuba about the new crop of artists that are emerging worldwide titled ART REVOULUTION: CUBA. After producing his first spec spot for Energizer, Schumacher was hired by the Martin Agency to direct three spots for the Charlotte Hornets, one spot ran on the Super Bowl and another earned an honor as finalist in the One Show. In addition to the One Show directorís honors, Schumacher directed and won the $100,000 ADMINE GOLD RUSH grand prize.
Schumacher graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in marketing followed by attendance at the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Georgia. During his agency tenure, Schumacher developed national campaigns for such prestigious accounts as the Honda, KIA, Sony, Pioneer, US West and more. With a flair for comedy, he earned many art director awards including recognition in the Communication Arts Advertising Annual, One Show, CLIOS, and numerous ADDY awards.
