After attending Skidmore College and graduating from the University of Colorado with a degree in English, Thomas Cartier moved to Los Angeles where he worked as an assistant to veteran feature and episodic television director Peter Markle. Following stints with the William Morris Agency and Mandy Films, Cartier embarked on a directing career. To supplement his professional experiences, Cartier also attended classes at the UCLA extension, Art Center at Night and the Robert Modica Acting Studio in New York City.
A couple of short films led Cartier to eventually producing and directing a series of spec spots with several prominent advertising agencies. His commercial "Date" for Volvo was featured in SHOOT¹S "The Best Work You May Never See" Creative Showcase (9/5/03) and his ad for Prego spaghetti sauce entitled "Three Roommates" made the Adcritic.com Top Ten list. Additionally, Cartier has directed "Bachelor Party" for Samuel Adams Boston Lager and ³Baby in Sauce² for Prego. Cartier specializes in performance and dialogue based comedy.
